20 Sep 2018 - UNIFIL’s Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Stefano Del Col today paid a visit to Maronite Patriarch for Antioch and the East Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi in Bkerke.
During the meeting, Major General Del Col commended the crucial role played by the Cardinal in carrying a message of peace and stability – which is essential to implementing UNIFIL’s mandate. He also thanked the Cardinal for his continuous and important support to UNIFIL’s work in south Lebanon.
06 Sep 2018 - Since taking the helm last month, UNIFIL’s Head of Mission and Force Commander, Major General Stefano Del Col, today chaired his first tripartite meeting with senior delegations from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at the UN position in Ras Al Naqoura.
UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Stefano Del Col met today with Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) Commander, General Joseph Aoun, at the UN Peacekeepers’ Headquarters in south Lebanon to discuss operational imperatives for the two forces following the renewal of UNIFIL’s mandate by the UN Security Council.
