    UNIFIL today observed the International Day of UN Peacekeepers at its headquarters in Naqoura, paying tribute to more than a million men and women for their service and sacrifice while working under the UN banner for the last 70-years.

  • UNIFIL Force Commander meets Prime Minister Hariri
    02 May 2018 - UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major-General Michael Beary met today with Prime Minister Saad Hariri in Beirut. Major-General Beary praised the Prime Minister for his role in recent international conferences in Europe, including the Rome Conference with the aim of further strengthening the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and maintaining Lebanon’s stability.

    30 Apr 2018 - UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Michael Beary met with H.E. President Michel Aoun, in Beirut today.  Major General Beary briefed President Aoun on the situation in the UNIFIL area of operation in south Lebanon and the ongoing Israeli construction works along the Blue Line.  He said the 1,060 square kilometre area of operation, between the Litani River and the Blue Line, remains overall calm.

    The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) today marked its establishment day exactly 40-years ago with a ceremony in the Mission Headquarters in Naqoura and the opening of a photo exhibition in the coastal town of Tyre, south Lebanon.

Discussions centred around the liaison and coordination arrangements provided by UNIFIL to ensure that there is no misunderstanding or miscalculation along the Blue Line in order to ensure a continued climate of calm and stability.
