    The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) today marked its establishment day exactly 40-years ago with a ceremony in the Mission Headquarters in Naqoura and the opening of a photo exhibition in the coastal town of Tyre, south Lebanon.

Discussions centred around the liaison and coordination arrangements provided by UNIFIL to ensure that there is no misunderstanding or miscalculation along the Blue Line in order to ensure a continued climate of calm and stability.

    On UN Day, UNIFIL head stresses lasting peace in south Lebanon
    24 Oct 2017 - On UN Day, UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Michael Beary today highlighted the importance of working together to achieve a lasting peace in south Lebanon. Speaking at an event marking the 72nd United Nations Day at the UN Mission’s headquarters in Naqoura, Major General Beary said UNIFIL looks forward to a time when it can hand over authority for the area south of the Litani River to the sovereign Government of Lebanon.
