I am concluding a very meaningful and productive visit to Lebanon. I have been profoundly moved by all I saw and heard.
Throughout my time here, I have sensed an atmosphere of opportunity.
Working in collaboration with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), UNIFIL Spanish peacekeepers cleared three major obstacles on the road near Khiam, south-eastern Lebanon, earlier this week.
A solar project, completed with support from UNIFIL’s Polish peacekeepers, was inaugurated in the south-western Lebanese village of Ayn Ibil last week.
Some 200 children and adolescents living in an orphanage in the southern village of Maaroub had a joyful start to the year 2025, having received packages of sweets, toys, clothes and school supplies from UNIFIL’s Italian and Malaysian peacekeepers last week.

With displaced residents gradually returning to their homes in south Lebanon, UNIFIL peacekeepers from the Republic of Korea gave out a number of essential items to them in the town of Abbasiyeh, north of Tyre in south Lebanon, last week.
