This was Major-General Beary’s first meeting with the Director General after he assumed command of UNIFIL on 19 July. Major-General Abbas Ibrahim warmly welcomed UNIFIL Force Commander “back to Lebanon” recalling Major-General Beary’s previous tours of duty with UNIFIL (in 1982, 1989 and 1994).
