Media representatives are invited to a Transfer of Authority ceremony at UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura on Thursday 28 January 2010. Major-General Alberto Asarta Cuevas (Spain) will assume command of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) from Lieutenant-General Claudio Graziano (Italy) at the end of a three-year tenure as Force Commander and Head of Mission.

Media agencies wishing to attend are requested to register in advance with UNIFIL's Public Information Office. Copies of press credentials and ID cards of the representatives wishing to attend should be provided by noon Monday 25 January by fax or email.

Media representatives attending the ceremony are requested to be at the UNIFIL Visitors' Gate no later than 01:00 p.m. on Thursday 28 January to allow time for security procedures.
