24 villages in south Lebanon benefit from Spanish veterinarian programme

Working with UNIFIL’s Spanish peacekeepers since 16 January, veterinarian experts from various Spanish Universities provided advice, on-the-spot treatments and vaccinations in 24 villages in the UN Mission’s area of operation in south-eastern Lebanon.

To date, they attended to some 11,000 livestock and extended support to 107 farmers.

This initiative is the result of an agreement signed between the Spanish Ministry of Defence and various veterinary universities in Spain, in order to provide assistance and contribute to the rural development in Lebanon.
