UNIFIL hosts school children from south Lebanon on Universal Children’s Day

Today on Universal Children’s Day UNIFIL was proud to host school children from south Lebanon. Some 100 talented children from nearby communities took over the UNIFIL hall.

UNIFIL peacekeepers engaged the young visitors with a number of activities like face painting, wall painting, games and dog show.

The event was a reminder that all children have the right to live in an environment of peace with access to education.

Throughout the year, UNIFIL peacekeepers coming from 41 countries organize various educational and recreational activities for the children in the Mission’s area of operation.

In close collaboration with the Lebanese Armed Forces, UNIFIL performs around 13,000 operational activities per month. Monitoring and patrolling by day and by night to help further the stability and prosperity in south Lebanon.
