Ninety UNIFIL peacekeepers have tested positive for COVID-19 Coronavirus.
UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Stefano Del Col today chaired a special Tripartite meeting with senior officers from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at a UN position in Ras Al Naqoura.
As part of the ongoing UNIFIL support to host communities in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mission’s peacekeepers from China donated yesterday medical supplies to the local communities of Al Qulaylah and Zibqin in south-western Lebanon.
UNIFIL Sector West peacekeepers have helped upgrade a municipal milk processing and storage facility in Aytarun, in the Bint Jbeil district of south-western Lebanon, with the donation of a new processing plant and other machinery last week.
