Nepalese peacekeepers provide free medical and dental services to locals

UNIFIL’s Nepal Battalion (NEPBATT) provided free treatment to 93 patients last week during two medical and dental camps it conducted in Tallousah and Majdel Slim municipalities in south-eastern Lebanon.

During a 19 April camp, medical personnel from the Nepalese Army’s peacekeeping force treated 31 medical and nine dental patients in Tallousah. Two days later, they treated 38 medical and 15 dental patients in Majdel Slim. The patients received treatment for respiratory, digestive and dental problems.

In both camps, the Nepalese peacekeepers also distributed free medicines, toothpaste and brushes to the patients.

NEPBATT organizes such medical camps every week. Every Monday and Tuesday, they offer free medical and dental services to the local population from its main base in Meis El Jabal. Likewise, it organizes outdoor camps in Tallousah every Wednesday, in Houla every Thursday and in Majdel Slim every Friday.
