LAF barrack in Tyre gets medical supplies from UNIFIL Sector West

As part of UNIFIL’s continued support to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), UNIFIL Sector West Command donated recently various vital medical supplies to the LAF infirmary in Benoit Barakat Barrack in Tyre. This donation will be used to provide medical care for LAF soldiers as well as their families.

Among the items donated included over five categories of medicines, 725 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) kits, 510 packs of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), and other medical supplies.

Brigadier General Maroun Kobayati, on behalf of the Lebanese Army Commander, thanked UNIFIL for the ongoing efforts in supporting LAF and contributing to maintaining security and stability in south Lebanon.

This donation is in line with the United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1701 (2006) and 2591 (2021), with the latter requesting UNIFIL to take “temporary and special measures” to support the LAF with essential items like medicine, fuel, food, and logistics.
