Ghanaian support to host communities to fight COVID-19 spread

As part of UNIFIL’s ongoing support to host communities in their fight against the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, the Mission’s peacekeepers from Ghana donated personal protective equipment (PPE), and medical and sanitary supplies to two villages in south-western Lebanon last week.

Among the items donated by the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) team of the Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) in the villages of Al-Qawzah and Rumaysh include medications, disinfectants, detergents, hand sanitizers and various PPEs.

The Ghanaian supports, delivered on 20 May 2020, also included essential pediatric medications for children in the communities.

This follows similar donations made by the UNIFIL GHANBATT last month to the Ayta Ash Shaab Social Development Centre and the Beit Leif Community Clinic in south-western Lebanon.
