Chief of General Staff of Serbian Armed Forces visits UNIFIL

A four-member delegation headed by General Ljubisa Dikovic, the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, visited UNIFIL from 11 to 13 December 2017. General DIKOVIC’s visit coincides with the deployment of a new Serbian contingent to UNIFIL.

During the visit, General Dikovic saw first-hand the situation in south Lebanon and the contribution made by the Serbian troops in fulfilling UNIFIL’s mandate. He arrived at UNIFIL’s Sector East Headquarters on 11 December and was received by the Sector Commander Brigadier General Francisco Javier Romero Marí.

During the visit, General Dikovic met with chiefs of all branches of UNIFIL Sector East and paid a visit to the Serbian Contingent.

Later in the week, General Dikovic also visited the UNIFIL Headquarters and the Mission’s Sector West Headquarters.

The Republic of Serbia has a total of 177 troops currently serving with UNIFIL and has been one of the troop contributing countries since 2010.
