In recent days, a great deal of misinformation and disinformation about UNIFIL’s mandate has been circulating in the media.
At the request of the Government of Lebanon, the Security Council extended UNIFIL’s mandate for another year today, with the adoption of Resolution 2650 (2022).
UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Aroldo Lázaro today chaired a Tripartite meeting with senior officers from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at the UN position in Ras Al Naqoura.
