UNIFIL peacekeepers are on the ground and working in close coordination with our strategic partners, the Lebanese Armed Forces who are working around the clock to provide security in the area.
We are aware of reports that a Lebanese civilian was killed along the Blue Line near Kafer Kila today during a confrontation with the Israel Defense Forces. UNIFIL’s Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Del Col is in direct contact with the parties to prevent further escalation.
