Naqoura-Lebanon: The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) today delivered 48 sets of computers, 23 computer servers and accessories to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) at a ceremony held at UNIFIL's Headquarters in Naqoura.
Addressing the ceremony, UNIFIL Force Commander Major-General Alberto Asarta Cuevas highlighted UNIFIL's commitment to enhance the operational capabilities of the Lebanese Armed Forces to ensure security in the south.

In the past year UNIFIL has delivered 169 vehicles and related spare parts as well as 72 complete computer sets to the LAF.
UNIFIL constantly campaigns with the international community for supporting the LAF with the technical and material resources it requires to fulfill its vital responsibilities in line with UN Security Council resolution 1701.
Today's ceremony was attended among others by LAF South Zone Commander Brigadier-General Emil Salloum representing the LAF Commander, UNIFIL Director of Mission Support Girish Sinha and several senior LAF and UNIFIL officers.
