UNIFIL’s Sector West Headquarters recently organized a workshop on public information for officers from the Mission’s strategic partner, the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF).

With the 25-26 March course, the second in as many months, UNIFIL’s Italian military public information experts trained 26 LAF officers on press release and news writing, body language during media interviews, professional use of photo and video camera, and preparing video products. The first training was organized on 29-30 January.

The workshop is part of an ongoing international effort to strengthen the LAF capabilities as envisaged by the UN Security Council resolution 1701 and subsequent relevant resolutions (especially 2373 and 2433), which collectively form UNIFIL’s mandate.
