As a main part of its Civil-Military Coordination activities, UNIFIL in its endeavor towards fostering good relations with the local populace invests in various projects, ranging from infrastructure repair works to free medical services.

But this time officers and soldiers of the Spanish and Serbian contingents voluntarily decided to purchase and distribute gifts to the children of schools in the towns of Ain Arab and Chebaa. These gifts were purchased by the peacekeepers before their deployment to Lebanon from Spain and Serbia respectively.

The gifts were distributed on the occasion of Christmas celebration on Monday16 December 2013, in a ceremony presided over by UNIFIL's Sector East Commander in Ain Arab, followed by distribution of gifts in the town of Chebaa on 17 December 2013.
