Dozens of Lebanese entrepreneurs – most of them women – from the country’s southern hinterlands set up stalls of local traditional cuisine and handicraft in the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in Naqoura last week. 

The commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Major General Michael Beary, today praised the work done by the UN mission’s Maritime Task Force (MTF) in effectively assisting the Lebanese authorities under the mandate of UN Security Council resolution 1701.

Lebanon is online and mobile. The amount of people accessing the internet through handheld devices has grown as the infrastructure for mobile communication advances. In 2014 UNdata estimated nearly 75% of Lebanese people have access to the internet.
