Young children visit UNIFIL base in Meis Ej Jebel
UNIFIL’s Nepalese Battalion organized the visit of young children from a local public school in Houla, in south-eastern Lebanon, to its base in Meis Ej Jebel last week.
During the 24 March visit, 55 children along with six teachers toured the UNIFIL base, watched Nepalese soldiers perform a cultural show, and received some gadgets. The children, between the age of four and seven years, also learned some painting from the UNIFIL peacekeepers and enjoyed the “musical chair” game, which is popular in Nepal.
The visit of the children, organized in coordination with the Houla Mothers’ Group, sought to strengthen the excellent relationship between UNIFIL peacekeepers and the local community in which they operate.
