Yesterday afternoon, UNIFIL peacekeepers observed a series of Israeli airstrikes in our area of operations in south Lebanon, in the villages of Marounah, Majadel, and Baraashit.

This morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fired on UNIFIL peacekeepers from a Merkava tank from near a position Israel has established in Lebanese territory. 

UNIFIL peacekeepers have recently intensified night patrols along the Blue Line, in coordination with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), building on the relative calm prevailing in the area.
