UNIFIL’s Nepalese Battalion (NEPBATT) Commander and the Mayor of Chaqra inaugurated a series of wall paintings by local students in the south-eastern Lebanese village earlier this week.

UNIFIL Sector East conducted a two-week long firefighting training with the Lebanese Civil Defense Centres in south Lebanon.
The joint activity was attended by 77 volunteers from Civil Defence Centres of Marjayoun, El Khiam, Rachaya Al Foukhar, Shab’a, Meiss Ej Jebel, Kleyaa and Frun.
Local farmers and traders had just started to assemble and set up stalls along the main street of Bint Jbeil when UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Michael Beary, accompanied by local dignitaries, strolled in to the weekly market.
