UNIFIL peacekeepers are on the ground and working in close coordination with our strategic partners, the Lebanese Armed Forces who are working around the clock to provide security in the area. Since the beginning of the demonstrations, we have been together on the ground to decrease tension and prevent the situation from escalating further.

UNIFIL's liaison and coordination mechanisms are fully engaged. Our liaison officers are coordinating with both sides to prevent any misunderstandings and ensure the situation remains stable.

Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Stefano Del Col is in direct contact with both the Lebanese Armed Forces and Israel Defense Forces. 

We have launched an investigation into these recent incidents along the Blue Line.

We continue to urge everyone to exercise restraint.
