UNIFIL regrets casualties in road traffic accident, says investigation underway

One civilian died and one other was injured in a road traffic accident involving a civilian vehicle and a UNIFIL Armoured Personnel Carrier on routine patrol this morning on Qnetra-Tibbeh road, south Lebanon.

The injured civilian was immediately evacuated for medical treatment to the hospital.

UNIFIL deeply regrets the loss of life and injury caused by the accident. The case is under investigation by the Lebanese authorities and UNIFIL is fully cooperating with the Lebanese investigation in order to help establish all the facts and circumstances relating to the accident.
