Earlier this week, UNIFIL peacekeepers cleared the drainage system running parallel to the Blue Line near Kfar Kila in order to prevent accumulation of water during the monsoon season.

The cleaning work, carried out by the Engineering Unit of UNIFIL’s Sector East Headquarters on 1 and 2 October, is important because any problem in the sensitive area may cause tension.

The work also ensures the continued usability of the road on the side of the drainage even during adverse weather conditions. It also allows smooth access for the UNIFIL personnel using the road everyday.
