Traffic safety workshop for south Lebanon students
UNIFIL peacekeepers organized a traffic safety workshop in Shama, south Lebanon, yesterday for more than 200 young school students from the Mission’s area of operation.
The Italian and Tanzanian peacekeepers attached to the Mission’s Sector West command organized the daylong workshop in coordination with the UNIFIL Civil Affairs Office. The youngsters underwent theoretical and practical training to learn traffic rules and ensure traffic safety to protect against exposure to accidents in the roads.
UNIFIL attaches great importance to its relationship with the host communities, and its peacekeepers regularly organize a wide range of civic activities for the benefit of the population.
