UNIFIL’s Sector East Headquarters organized a training on public information, encompassing various aspects of news production as well as media relations, for UNIFIL and Lebanese Army troops in its base in Ibil al-Saqi last week.

The three-day training, from 15 to 17 September 2020, saw participation of 21 UNIFIL peacekeepers and eight Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) personnel.

Public information experts from UNIFIL – including Pascual Gorriz and Haidar Fahs (photography), Ariadna Alvarado and Mohamad Hamze (video), and Tilak Pokharel (news writing) – offered theoretical and practical sessions.

As part of UNIFIL’s ongoing coordination with the LAF, the training was useful in sharing knowledge and skills in an international environment. It also sought to enhance the capabilities of the LAF in public and media relations.
