UNIFIL Sector East Commander Brigadier General Sánchez Martínez-Falero received the religious authorities from south-east Lebanon at the Sector Headquarters, the Miguel de Cervantes Base, in Ibl al-Saqi, yesterday.

The multinational Sector East Brigade conducted an ecumenical meeting with the religious authorities of the area in order to strengthen ties and boost the relationships.

During the start of the meeting, contingent chaplain D. Angel Briz Fernandez presented a few lines of dialogue after a short welcome prayer, different religious issues were addressed in order to imbibe the ideologies of the congregation to continue working towards a common goal.

During their interaction, they also discussed issues concerning the steps that need to be taken to establish a long-lasting peace.

At the end, all the attendees were very grateful to the Líbano XXIX Brigade for the initiative of holding the joint meeting, and suggested the possibility of carrying it out more frequently.
