Indian peacekeepers organize dental camp for local residents
UNIFIL Indian peacekeepers this week organized a dental health and oral hygiene awareness camp in the south-eastern Lebanese village of Kfar Hammam.
A total of 17 local residents benefited from the free service from the UNIFIL peacekeepers, whose support also included emergency dental assistance.
The event was organized at the request and with participation of local authorities.
Just like Indian peacekeepers, UNIFIL’s other contingents also regularly carry out – between their core peacekeeping duties – several support activities directly benefiting the local population.
These activities are helpful in maintaining a positive interface with the Lebanese people and are helpful in furthering mutual trust, which is the key to stability in the UNIFIL area of operations in south Lebanon.
