Habbarieh gets school and COVID-related donations
The south-eastern Lebanese village of Habbarieh last week received several materials to limit the spread of COVID-19 virus, as well as school supplies, from UNIFIL’s Spanish Contingent.
Most of the donations that seek to boost efforts of Lebanon’s Ministry of Education will be used in classroom settings.
The 16 April support is the continuation of similar efforts by UNIFIL and its peacekeepers to help the host communities and Lebanese state institutions in containing the spread of the virus since its outbreak last year.
All the preventive measures related to COVID-19 spread were followed during the handover ceremony, attended by UNIFIL peacekeepers, mayors and representatives of the Ministry of Education.
