Mazraat al-Meshref municipality solicited the help of UNIFIL's Civil Affairs to build a mini-football field in the town, "a space that would gather the youth and children," as put by the town deputy mayor, Ali Abdellatif Wazne.

The long-sought field will replace the nearby improvised pitch used by the townspeople to hold occasional tournaments. Now, incidents are less likely to happen, Hassan the Civil Defence member asserted.

With the joint funding of the municipality and UNIFIL Civil Affairs office, UNIFIL's Malaysian battalion engineers levelled the ground of the field, fixed the bracing to build a stronger fence.

Soon enough, Sami, Ismail and many others will enjoy playing football or other games on a professional field that will allow them to improve and give hope for future generations.
