To mark the 2018 Lebanese Children’s Day, UNIFIL’s Chinese Battalion (CHINBATT) organized a cultural exchange event at Cadmous College in Tyre, South Lebanon, last week.
Marking the International Day of UN Peacekeepers on 29 May, UNIFIL’s Gender Advisory Unit and the Mission’s Women Focal Point Margrit Hrandian paid tribute to a Ghanaian peacekeeper, Corporal Mercy Adade, who passed away recently, at a brief ceremony in the Mission Headquarters in Naqoura.
About 120 school children from a non-profit charity – established in 2008 in the name of a martyred Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) official – visited UNIFIL’s Sector East Headquarters in Ibl El Saqi to know about the UN Mission’s work on Saturday.
UNIFIL’s Maritime Task Force (MTF) recently carried out an exercise off the coast of Jounieh, north of Beirut, together with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) Navy in order to enhance the cooperation and coordination between the two forces.

UNIFIL’s Republic of Korea Battalion (ROKBATT) recently organized taekwondo classes, running for three months, for their fellow peacekeepers at the Sector West Headquarters in Shama.
