The Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC), with the support of UNIFIL’s Sector East (SECEAST) Headquarters and the UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS), today conducted an educational program on landmines and unexploded ordnances (UXOs) safety and awareness for students at Blat Public School.
UNIFIL’s Sector East Headquarters organized last week a five-day joint training on “Military Decision Making Process” for 19 officers and warrant officers from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and various UNIFIL units operating in south-eastern Lebanon.
Working with UNIFIL’s Spanish peacekeepers since 16 January, veterinarian experts from various Spanish Universities provided advice, on-the-spot treatments and vaccinations in 24 villages in the UN Mission’s area of operation in south-eastern Lebanon.
UNIFIL’s eastern command organized a joint police training at its headquarters in Marjayoun. Twenty-nine participants from Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) and UNIFIL Sector East Military Provost Units from Indonesia and Spain attended the joint training during the last five days.
