A medical team of UNIFIL’s Indian Battalion has saved the life of a toddler who had been badly burnt in a fire incident in Kafar Chouba, south-eastern Lebanon.
UNIFIL, in collaboration with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and a local non-governmental organization, organized an educational outreach programme, explaining the scope of UNIFIL’s mandate to a group of youth from the UN Mission’s area of operation, in Tyre earlier this week.
As part of his visit to UNIFIL’s area of operation this week, Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama of the Republic of Fiji today visited the Mission’s headquarters in Naqoura and met with Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Stefano Del Col.
Marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities yesterday, UNIFIL’s Indian peacekeepers hosted a group of children with disabilities in their main base in Ibl al-Saqi for a day of entertainment and social activities.
