The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) today held a ceremony to commemorate the International Day of Peace at its headquarters in Naqoura.

The Lebanese Special Forces soldier calls his combat dog to heel. “Key” the dog who is already growling at the “suspicious” man across the park, obediently responds. The soldier and his dog closely watch as the man makes threatening gestures and shouts aggressively. The dog tugs on his lead.

During his visit to the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura today, Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) General Joseph Aoun discussed with the UN Mission’s leadership enhanced coordinated activities between LAF and UNIFIL in the area between the Litani River and the Blue Line in south Lebanon.
