UNIFIL Ghanaian peacekeepers recently conducted training exercises for Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) personnel, geared towards fostering cooperation and improving working relations between the two forces, in the south-western Lebanese village of Kfar Dunin.

As part of continued UNIFIL support to host communities and in order to enhance local medical capabilities, the mission’s Finnish peacekeepers recently donated an anesthesia machine to a public hospital in Marjayoun, south-eastern Lebanon, last week.

Late this morning, UNIFIL detected rocket launches from outside UNIFIL’s area of operations in south Lebanon towards the Israeli-occupied Golan. 

This was followed almost immediately by an artillery response from Israel directed at the general area around Kafer Chouba.
