Naqoura, Lebanon - The UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) today paid tribute to the UN staff members who were killed and those injured in the bombing of UN offices in Nigeria.
The United Nations Security Council, on the request of the Government of Lebanon, yesterday unanimously adopted resolution 2004 (2011) extending without amendment the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for a period of one year until 31 August 2012.

TIBNIN, Lebanon - UNIFIL Force Commander Major-General Alberto Asarta Cuevas today visited the newly deployed Irish Battalion in south Lebanon at the start of their mission as part of UNIFIL.
Naqoura, Lebanon – UNIFIL Maritime Task Force (MTF) and the Lebanese Navy yesterday conducted a day-long combined exercise involving live-firing and other operational activities at sea. Seven vessels, including three from the Lebanese Navy, participated.
