UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Stefano Del Col today chaired a special Tripartite meeting – held in a modified format due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions – with senior officers from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at a UN position

UNIFIL today handed over one of its positions to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), its strategic partner, at a ceremony in south-western Lebanon.

In recent days, several serious incidents have occurred across the Blue Line. These incidents have included rockets launched from south Lebanon into Israel, which drew retaliatory artillery fire by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) inside UNIFIL’s area of operations.
