UNIFIL and the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) today hailed the opening of the LAF’s new regional centre for civil-military cooperation (CIMIC) in Marjayoun as a new chapter in the cooperation between the two forces in south Lebanon.
In the lead-up to a recent global open day on Women, Peace and Security, UNIFIL’s gender unit held three preparatory meetings in Tyre, Bint Jbeil, and Marjayoun in south Lebanon to use the participation of women to further peace and security.
UNIFIL and the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) today paid last respects with full honours to Corporal Mercy Adade of the Ghanaian Contingent, who passed away at the age of 36 in the early morning of 5 April following short illness. Cpl. Adade is survived by a son.
