The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) held on 21 September 2022 a ceremony to commemorate the International Day of Peace at its headquarters in Naqoura, South Lebanon.
Providing free medical care for the people of South Lebanon is nothing new for UNIFIL. Helping and supporting local communities has been an integral part of UNIFIL’s activities since 2007.
On July 2, cooperatives all around the world celebrated the 100th International Day of Cooperatives under the slogan of “Cooperatives Build a Better World.”

UNIFIL today marked the 44th anniversary of the UN mission’s establishment with its head and Force Commander, Major General Aroldo Lázaro, calling on the parties to make “meaningful steps” towards a sustainable peace.

UNIFIL today hosted about 100 children of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) personnel at its headquarters in Naqoura for special musical performances by the young visitors, joined by UN peacekeepers.
In the spirit of the ongoing UNIFIL support to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), the UN mission’s Republic of Korea Battalion (ROKBATT) handed over 10 Barracuda armored personnel carriers (APCs) to the LAF’s South Litani Sector (SLS) yesterday.
