The Logic behind Joint Live Fire Exercises
For the second time this year UNIFIL peacekeepers and Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) personnel conducted a series of joint live fire exercises south of UNIFIL Headquarters in Naqoura.
Several LAF brigade elements along with a number of UNIFIL contingents joined forces, equipment, skills, and camaraderie over five days of intense drills and cooperation.
These kinds of exercises commenced shortly after the passing of Security Council Resolution 1701 in 2006 and they have been ongoing every year since.
Find out why these joint exercises are so crucial to the implementation of SCR 1701 in this episode of our radio program Salam from the South.
