Today, UNIFIL and the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) held a ceremony to pay their respects to Warrant Officer Class 1 George Ayim, a Ghanaian peacekeeper who died from cardiac arrest on 4 February 2025, while serving with UNIFIL.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) is very concerned about reports of Lebanese civilians returning to villages where Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are still present and of casualties due to Israeli fire.

I am concluding a very meaningful and productive visit to Lebanon.  I have been profoundly moved by all I saw and heard. 

Throughout my time here, I have sensed an atmosphere of opportunity.
