A team of UNIFIL’s Italian and Malaysian peacekeepers partnered with a local youth group recently in organizing an intense month-long educational therapy treatment programme for children with learning disabilities in the Al Bassma Center in the village of Qana in south-western Lebanon.

A nine-member UN delegation led by Assistant Secretary-General Khaled Khiari today concluded a weeklong visit to Lebanon and the UNIFIL area of operations, as part of an assessment of UNIFIL’s resources.

UNIFIL French peacekeepers recently organized an awareness day with the UN Mission’s strategic partner, the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), on the dangers posed by mines, cluster munitions and improvised explosive ordnances.
