UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Michael Beary today chaired the first tripartite meeting of 2018 with senior officials from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at the UN position at Ras Al Naqoura.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier today visited UNIFIL Maritime Task Force (MTF)’s German ship “Magdeburg” in the Port of Beirut and met with German peacekeepers.

Peacekeeping is not just about patrolling and reconnaissance missions. It also means working to create a condition whereby the residents live in peace and go about their business.
