United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 was adopted in 2006 following a devastating war, and for 17 years brought an unprecedented period of stability to south Lebanon. However, with almost daily exchanges of fire along the Blue Line, now running into the tenth month, the resolution has come under the spotlight. UNIFIL’s Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Hervé Lecoq, will shed light on the resolution, the mission’s tasks, and the challenges faced since its adoption.
