UNIFIL peacekeepers and local officials jointly inaugurated a new water filtration plant, constructed with funding from Spanish peacekeepers, in Meiss Ej Jebel, south-eastern Lebanon, last week.
During his visit to UNIFIL’s Sector East Headquarters in Marjayoun yesterday, the Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF)’s Fifth Regiment, Brigadier General Ramez Khamis, discussed with the UNIFIL Sector Commander enhanced coordinated activities between LAF and UNIFIL.
UNIFIL’s Italian Battalion, commanded by Colonel Massimo Crocco, today carried out a Crowd and Riot Control (CRC) training exercise with the Lebanese Armed Forces personnel in the Tyre district, south-western Lebanon.
A UNIFIL-funded quick impact project was inaugurated last week at the Dayr Amis Municipality building in south Lebanon. The ceremony was attended by the Malaysian Contingent (MALBATT) Deputy Commander, the Mayor of Dayr Amis and other local authorities.
