UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Stefano Del Col today chaired the first Tripartite meeting of 2021, with senior officers from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at a UN position in Ras Al Naqoura.

The newly arrived batch of UNIFIL’s Nepalese peacekeepers, operating in the Mission’s area of operations in south-eastern Lebanon, launched last week an environmental campaign in line with the Mission’s broader “Blue to Green” initiative.

Today, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a Lebanese shepherd to UNIFIL at the Ras Naqoura crossing. The shepherd had been apprehended on Tuesday, January 12 in the Bastara area near the Blue Line in south Lebanon.
