Sultaniyeh celebrates Spring Festival with UNIFIL

The southern town of Sultaniyeh once again celebrated the Spring Festival with UNIFIL for the fourth year in a row.

More than 4000 children from different villages across the UNIFIL Area of Operation participated in the event held at Sultaniyeh Liberation Education Complex where they had the opportunity to interact with UNIFIL peacekeepers and enjoy cultural performances, reading and drawing activities, and games.

Peacekeepers from different battalions presented folkloric dances, giving the children the chance to get acquainted with the different cultures of the soldiers whom they frequently see in military attire.

"Our guests of honour today are the children," said Rola Bzei, a Civil Affairs officer, adding that the day is dedicated par excellence for children's smiles and joy.

This is the ninth consecutive year where ALPHA and Medrar non-governmental Organizations, and al-Qalaa Union of Municipalities organise the Spring Festival for children of Bint Jbeil, Marjeyoun and Tyre districts. UNIFIL was participating in the event for the fourth consecutive year.
